As a native Tacoman, my culinary journey began at the age of 3…my family owned a bakery in South Tacoma where all members of the family were taught to bake from a very early age. My father was an experienced delicate pastry baker and exceptional amateur chef. I learned from the best! I have taken courses at Le Cordon Bleu Seattle, Pasta Classes with Michelin-starred Chefs in Florence, Italy and other specialized courses in cake decorating and floral design.
Due to my own chronic health issues, and those of family and friends, I was forced to start creating menus that were supported lactose free, dairy free, gluten free and other food sensitivities. Through my own challenges with food, I learned to work within these limitations, yet still create elevated menus. I always eat with my eyes first, and then get so excited with the flavor burst that delight the palette afterwards.
I enjoy working with children and teens which led me to create two very special programs. Check out The Ratatou Crew (for your little ones) and Teen Beats and Eats (age 13 to 18). Every one of every age is welcome, and a customized experience may be tailored to fit your needs.
Catering for groups up to 150 people,entertaining in private homes, my love of working with children and young adults, because of these things I decided it was time to condense my experiences and take them to the next level. Now I get the opportunity to host and share dinner parties and cooking classes, Thus the Elysium experience was born!
